ChatGPT goes Premium

As if ChatGPT could not get any better! We may have all been enjoying the benefits of incorporating a chatbot into our operation processes, some more than others. Well, the good news, is that OpenAI has announced that they are coming out with a premium package, at a paid tier priced at $20 per month that offers enhanced access to the tool.

Right now, the ChatGPT Plus plan is only available in the US for $20 a month, but it’s coming to other countries soon. And what about the free version of ChatGPT? Luckily the e version will still be made available during this transitionary period, though you may encounter delays or outages during peak usage.

Nonetheless, ChatGPT has proven to be an invaluable tool in many industries, particularly in Marketing. OpenAI is committed to always improving the AI platform based on feedback from its research previews, so you know you’re getting the best of the best.

That said, it is all good and well that ChatGPT is consistently improving, but what does this subscription mean for marketers and why should we be excited about the new features? Let’s unpack what you would get from this premium ChatGPT Plus and why marketers should be excited:

  1. Availability

With the premium subscription, you would be offered availability even during high demand times. That means that while you’re in the groove of things, you won’t have to wait for an hour for your response to start generating again.

  1. Response

ChatGPT Plus will also generate faster responses to prompts and provide clearer and more accurate response more consistently. Here, instead of getting vague response you’d get detailed points and explanations, depending on the prompt.

  1. Priority Access

As many might know, ChatGPT only uses data up until 2021. So, anything that has happened from 2022 has not been recorded and responses cannot be formulated to include anything from 2022. With the new premium subscription offers you first dibs on any recent data which can be used for accurate and up-to-date trend assessments, platform updates, news, etc. This is great news for marketers in particular because now we can have an actual market representation of what is currently happening!

ChatGPT is fantastic. It honestly is such a revolutionary platform, especially for marketers who have used it as a valuable tool to maximize SEO performance while minimizing costs. However, it’s important to note that relying solely on ChatGPT may not be the best approach. The tool can produce impressive results, but it can also generate misinformation, plagiarized content, or incorrect outputs. Additionally, there are concerns around the legality of using AI-generated content and potential penalties from search engines such as Google.

To help avoid AI-generated content getting passed off as real, OpenAI created a tool to detect if text was written by a computer program. This classifier will flag content from OpenAI and other AI authoring software, but keep in mind it still has limitations and should not be the only way to determine if text is AI-generated. In tests, the classifier correctly identified AI-written text only 26% of the time and flagged 9% of human-written text as AI-generated. You can access the classifier as a web app, and it comes with resources for teachers too. With the rise of ChatGPT, it’s important to know if content is real or fake, so OpenAI has got your back.

OpenAI is also developing tools to detect ChatGPT outputs, so it’s crucial to have proper checks and balances in place to avoid further issues. Nevertheless, by using the right prompts and understanding the limitations of ChatGPT, it can become a valuable addition to your content process.
